The Maharashtra State Under 15 Open and Girls FIDE Rating Selection Chess Championship was held in Amravati from 28th to 30th October 2022. A total of 140 players took part in this championship. Siddhant Gawai of Nagpur emerged as the champion in Open category and Divya Patil of Kolhapur won the Girls category. The tournament was a grand success and boost for chess in the district Amravati.
